3 SU Graduates Make NBA History

Three Southern University A&M College graduates made NBA history as referees through their mutual connection during the Spurs and Nuggets game over the weekend.
For the first time ever C.J. Washington, Bennie Adams, and Courtney Kirkland, who all are graduates from Southern worked the game in Denver Sunday during which the Nuggets succumbed to the Spurs.
Washington is from Baton Rouge, LA, and Adams is from New Orleans, LA, whereas Kirkland is from Flint, MI. All three of the men got their start officiating Louisiana High School sports, and Adams has the most experience as he’s been a referee 23 years.
