Wrapping up the end of Baton Rouge’s Women’s Week, Fight Like a Girl was a domestic violence awareness event by Sistars of empowerment, Inc.  The purpose of this event was to bring awareness to domestic violence and self defense in the event of an attempt. Keyandra Hall Miss Black Louisiana USA 2017 hosted the self defense classes taught by self defense instructor Chance Ballard. Attendees were educated with pamphlets and testimonies and given the opportunity to acknowledge victims of domestic violence with purple butterflies.  McKinley High School Senior Charlesia Joseph launched her campaign for domestic violence “When did he stop treating you like a princess?”
