Former Atlanta Falcon Defensive End Chuck Wiley will host a USA Football and Cheerleader FUNdamentals clinic for children ages 9-18 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, June 8th at the Adamsville Recreation Center. The fun and free event is designed to introduce children to football by teaching basic skills in an exciting and energetic environment and is supported through a grant from the NFL Foundation.

FUNdamentals incorporates a series of drills to teach passing, catching and running skills in a non-contact setting. All skills and drills selected are based on USA Football’s Player Progression Development Model, ensuring children are learning in an age-appropriate manner, based on their cognitive and physical maturity. Stage Ready incorporates artistic and creative choreography for the cheerleaders. Also, Chuck has partnered up with Project Friendship Foundation. Project Friendship is a non-profit (501)(c)(3) organization, which is composed of Active Duty and Retired military men and civilians.

And their mission is to provide social services and hands on mentoring for youth through community outreach to residents of the Metro Atlanta area. During the camp, Colgate will be providing free dental screenings and the Army will set a fitness challenge. Project Friendship and 99 Wayz 2 Win Foundations will give out free books at the camp for the campers as well.

Chuck will be receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award and Proclamations from the City of Atlanta and Fulton County. Kohls Volunteer Program, NFL Former Players Association, and Phi Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will be hand to volunteer at the camp. USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and is a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
