Many may remember Sara Stokes from “Making The Band” Season 2. We were happy to catch up with her and discuss a little about her returning for a second season of “From The Bottom Up” which is executive produced by Queen Latifah and Nicci Gilbert, and what to expect of her this season.

How would she describe her swagher, like what makes Sara, Sara?

I’m a silly, good-hearted, optimistic, but sexy as hell, even over the top at times, talented, weird, Gemini. I’m a REAL PERSON – down to earth, and I have no problem sharing my life’s triumphs and setbacks with the world. What’s a testimony if you can’t testify?

Why did you to return to BET after there were claims of you suing the network?

Everything was settled with the network…I LOVE BET…and I never stopped believing in “From The Bottom Up”. To this day, I’m so very thankful to have been and still be a part of this real life, inspirational, uplifting, and authentic reality show. I did the second season, because I felt my story could help someone out there going through the same thing I had gone through. I also wanted to be transparent and open with viewers to let them know that people like us do have real issues that they need to deal with that affect their entire life. I love my cast mates and the crew – everyone is wonderful!

How have you grown since the last season of “From the Bottom Up”?

I’ve grown so much mentally…letting go and realizing that if I don’t let it out and be honest – not ashamed, that things will NEVER change – that hurt and pain will just lie dormant. I’ve matured in terms of my career as well. However, there are lots of opportunities for me to continue to grow and step out on faith.

I believe this time around they have shown a lot of hurt that I was hiding from my past. That hurt was affecting my life, family, and career. They haven’t shown my physical strength yet thought! Lol!

What is one thing she wants her followers to know about her that is not shown or depicted in the show?

I run marathons and can probably kick your neck off! All jokes aside, I would have loved for this season to show how involved I am with my kids. When it comes to school, sports, and just anything they do, I’m all there! I’m one of those crazy screaming mamas! GO GABBY!! GO EVA!! GO ELIJAH!! I’M A PROUD MAMA.

Catch Sara on “From The Bottom Up” Saturday on the Centric.
