3 Reasons to Be Proud of Your Blackness This Week

It’s Tuesday, nothing special to our knowledge, but just in case one needs a reason to feel good about being Black this week, or in particular, being a Black woman, here’s three!

13- year old Essynce Moore was named Teenpreneur by Black Enterprise. The fashionprinista  owns Essynce Couture, LLC which is a teen clothing line she started from her doodle drawings. Last year she expanded her line to include natural body product line, Wynk By Essynce.

Venus and Serena Williams won their 14th Grand Slam title and sixth Wimbledon title on over the weekend, 6-3, 6-4 vs. Timea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova. Serena also claimed her 22nd women’s tennis Grand Slam title, with who but Beyonce and Jay-Z in attendance and cheering her on!

Two time gold medalist Gabrielle Douglas and three-time world all-around champion Simone Biles are heading to the Olympics in Rio in August with the US teams.  Upon making the team after trials, Douglas was also presented with a Barbie in her likeness, created by Mattel.

 

There’s a lot going on in the world, but don’t be discouraged. We have always had greatness in us.
