Another Possible Police Involved Shooting in Houston, Texas

Though we couldn’t find anything via mainstream media, social media outlets like Twitter and Instagram are reporting the death of another Black man, Alva Braziel,  during a police involved shooting.

We found one news story from Houston which did not identify the man, but the report says the man was waving a gun in the middle of the street last night, and when he pointed it at the officers, both officers shot him. They stated the story was developing.

Meanwhile Twitter has identified the man as Alva Braziel  also known as Groucho. video online posted from someone in a car shows a body covered on the ground, but of course this after the shooting. Braziel was shot 10 times, three times in the head.

Many are saying the cops “thought” he had a gun. As much tension as there is across the country right now, we can’t imagine a Black man standing in the street with a gun. Some say the audio tells of them finding the gun, but until we see video, we are not trusting it. It’s said that a convenience store nearby filmed the shooting but the tapes have already been confiscated.

We would like to add from his Facebook, Groucho seemed like a man with common sense. On one account, he posted a video on February 9th, showing someone pulled over by the police, which to us says he was conscious of the police, so again, we’re not quite believing the “standing in the street waving a gun.”

We will update as the story unfolds.
