How did you begin designing jewelry?
It actually started years ago when our house was broken into. Just about all of my (fashion) jewelry was stolen, and I was devastated, because they were all close-outs or donated pieces. I was creative so I played around with making little pieces here and there. Fast forward about 10 years. and I picked it back up after needing a little extra income.
What inspires your designs?
The human duality of darkness and light, my personality, and my style.
Can you elaborate on your saying, “I can’t accessories everybody by myself.”?
My signature look is very bold, and with billions of people on the planet, I know my style is not for everyone. For all the daring accessory fans out there, I’m only one person and all my work is handcrafted. I’ll service as many people as I can. But, I do it with the understanding that there are other jewelry designers with a style similar to mine and I’m okay with that. We’re all here to spread our creativity- there’s no need to be greedy.
How do you market your brand?
I utilize Facebook, Instagram, word of mouth, and third party advertising sources.
What is one obstacle you overcame with your brand and how?
It was developing my signature style. I initially tried to cater to everyone but it was too much. I learned to trust my creative flow and it has helped tremendously. My brand is becoming synonymous with bold and unique.
How do you plan to expand in the future?
I will be traveling further to extend the reach of my brand name, open my online shop to enable my customers to purchase directly from the site, and I’ll also be diversifying my product line.
Where all has your work been published?
*I’ve been published in Gothic Noir, Freaks -n- Geeks, Very Full Figured, and London LeBlanc magazines.
Do you have any upcoming events or projects you would like to share?
I’ll be a designer in several shows over the coming months- Farrington Fashions and Tees & Heels Fashion shows- both on April 16th, Fools Gold Fashion show on April 29th, and Pitch Black Fashion show on July 31st (all held in Atlanta, GA.) I will be set up as a vendor at Small Boutique Fashion Week Atlanta on July 23rd.
