Giving up feels so good and natural, right?  Of course, it does.  It is easier to give up than to find the strength you need to actually push forward.  But pushing forward is actually what we have to do though.  It is not that we want to…but there is a deep need inside of us that makes us have to.  If we don’t push forward, we will regret it for the rest of our lives.  So here are some tips to help you push forward when you are ready to give up! BOLD stands for many things, but for the purpose of this it stands for BELIEVE OPPORTUNITIES LEARN DIRECT.

B-BELIEVE in yourself and that you were called for a higher purpose.  We often let other people, places and things suck the belief right out of us.  We wonder why we feel heavy, but in all actuality we gave our belief away.  Hold on to your belief in yourself and your belief in your why.  If it is easy to let go, check your why.

O-OPPORTUNITIES are all around you.  We often spend time looking for things that are already there, like when we lose keys in our purse.  We don’t give up, we dig around in that purse until we find them because we have somewhere to go.  The opportunities are like the purse and your goal is the keys.  We often make it harder on ourselves because we don’t see the value in the opportunities we already have.

L-LEARN what you need to know.  If there is something you want to do, learn how to do it and do it well.  Better yet, take time out to learn you, what are you good at?  Can you get better or can you be the best?  Learning how to do something to the best of your ability and then better than your ability, builds confidence.

D-DIRECT your focus.  Stop getting off track.  It is better to have tunnel vision when you are trying to accomplish something.  Look at it like this, on a road trip if you look to the side the scenery is a blur, but when you focus your vision straight ahead everything is clear.

Part of being BOLD is about not giving up, but the other part is knowing when you need to rest.  I often talk about taking a nap to refocus yourself.  It can be a literal nap or a mental nap.  Either way, we sometimes needs to rest our minds from the everyday madness.  In the process of achieving goals, rather it is to start a business or to be happier, we will get frustrated and often condemn ourselves for getting off track.  Don’t do that, always go back to your basics.  Take BOLD action in order to live a BOLD life.

I am often asked how do I find the strength to go on or how do I build myself up?  In my book, 31 Days to Building Your BOLD factor, I guide you through the process.  It is a process and to look at it in any other way, you will get frustrated and give up.  Stay the course!

Peace & Love
