A Different Woman: Lil Mo

Snippet of interview with Michael Majesty from our July 2014 Women In Business issue

Majesty: You are heavily involved with your business affairs. Does this ever get in the way of your creative process?

Lil Mo: No, I don’t like excuses, so it works best for me. That’s why I do things this way, so I don’t have to clean up nobody mess or hear any excuses on why something didn’t go the way I envisioned it.

Majesty: How do you find balance?
Lil Mo: There is no balance, but I’m cool with that. I find peace in the midst of chaos and being hectic; I can’t thrive in balance. I don’t know why, but I love pushing myself past the limit.

Majesty: You recently released your first book “Taming lil Mo” what can readers expect to learn about you when they read it?
Lil Mo: Everything they have speculated, needed closure on, or just being nosey about. Such as how did I get started in the industry, how I dropped out of hair school to tour with Missy Elliott, or how I thought I was going crazy and was suicidal. The drugs I used along with how I met Fabolous. Mannnnnn, it’s basically me spilling my own tea.

Majesty:What are 3 things you attribute your success to?
Lil Mo: God, Family, and staying focused.
