How would you describe your swagger? What makes Barry, Barry?

How would I describe my swag?  I call my style #ContemparyClassic meaning it’s modern, but retains a taste of the 80’s and 90’s. I love vintage clothes, music, architecture, and etc. I do what feels great and works for Barry. I stay in my own lane.

 

What is one obstacle you have had to overcome in business and how did you do so?

My biggest hurdles were being homeless and still trying to build a clientele, not being discouraged and going back to Ohio. Because I was able to weather that storm, I know I can overcome anything!

 

Thus far, what has been the most successful method for marketing your business?

I would say the best and most effective marketing tool for my business has been social media and word of mouth.

 

How hard is it to run and maintain a successful barbershop?

Really the challenge is finding the right people, people who are hungry like you-omg…it’s been the hardest! Maintaining, I find to be easy. It’s really about being consistent.

 

What separates you from other barbers?

I stand apart from barbers…because I’m not a “Barber”. I’m a GROOMER…. There is a difference. Also I outwork, outclass, and run my business like a business, not a hustle.

 

What goals do you have for this year?

My goals for the upcoming year are to launch my branding and marketing seminars, do more international work, more published print work…really become a world wide brand.

 

What winter styling tips can you give to our brothers with beards? 

Beards are hair right? So with that being said, you have to shampoo and condition it. Yes, condition it to replace the oils lost due to colder weather temperature. That’s how to groom a nice flowing beard that will make everyone envy you!
