How would you describe your swagher? What makes Shaneisha, Shaneisha?
My swagher is the way I carry myself when I’m conducting business. I would describe it as classy with a touch of swag. What makes me, me? I would say it’s my positive attitude and passion for helping others.
Where do you get your inspiration?
My inspiration comes from life. It could be a smell, or a sound, or an image that inspires me to write.
What obstacles have you had to overcome in business and how did you do so?
The obstacle that I have overcome is making sure that I thoroughly investigate people or companies before I conduct business with them. This has saved me a whole lot of money and time. Being new in any business, comes with vultures who will take you for a ride if you are not careful.
Tell us a little about Black Girlz Productions, LLC?
I founded Black Girlz Production in 2012. Our motto is Dream Big or Go Home! Our goal is to entertain and educate our audience on issues that are secretly plaguing our communities. At the moment, we are focused on theatrical productions. We have plans to produce a web-series, and eventually educational DVDs.
To what do you credit most of your success?
I credit my success to my mother Sheila Ingram. She is my number one supporter. When I was a young child, she instilled in me the value of hard work. I watched her work two jobs most of my life. This taught me that success doesn’t come without hard work. Therefore, I push myself to the max, and this is how I achieve my goals.
Do you have any upcoming events or projects you care to share with us?
I’m currently touring with my stage play I’ll Be Single Before I Settle. The next show is scheduled for February 13, 2016, at the Rivertown theater in Kenner, Louisiana. Recently, I completed a screenplay. I have a book Teen Girls Need Love II that will be released this year. I’m also working on my third theatrical production. Lastly, I was nominated for a 2016 Black Women Are (Inspirational) Award. This is awesome. Make sure you think about me when you cast your vote. I know this is a shameless plug, but I’m honored that my work is not being done in vain.
What words of inspiration would you care to share with our readers?
Believe in yourself even if no one else does. The vision that God created for you may not be understood by the masses. Pray over everything and don’t be afraid to walk in your purpose.
