Introduce yourself. Who are The Showers?

The Showers come from humble beginnings in Hammond, Louisiana, where we are preachers kids who lived in church from sun up to sun down.  Our parents are Rev. Dr. Bobby R. Showers, Sr. and Missionary Oralean Showers; collectively our parents bore ten children, but our group consists of seven. Our ages range from 42 to 25. We were most likely to not succeed but today we have MBA’s, entrepreneurs, teachers, and more. We are elated that God gifted us to share his message to a dying world. I pray that we not only sing God’s word but we live what we sing about. Thus glorifying our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

How did the group start and how long have you been singing together?

The group started with Regina, owner of A & P Records and the eldest. Regina started singing when she was four. Our father asked for a singer, but God did exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think by giving our parents strength to multiply the earth with ten children. We’ve been singing together for twenty plus years.

In 2009, we released our project titled Hear My Prayer; however, in 2012 we coupled with Myron Butler, Deon Kipping, & Bruce Robinson, Jr. to produce our current album. Today I can say, God has given us increase( see EPK).

Are you all currently working on a full album?

Immediately was released in October 2015. This is our third single at radio. Our album released digitally everywhere on April 21, 2015.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Winans, Clark sisters, Hawkins, John P. Kee, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, and the William Brothers.
What obstacles have you all had to overcome as a group?

As a group, we’ve had to struggle to get our message conveyed nationally through physical distribution but God is working this matter out. The family dynamic is also challenging and cumbersome.
What is it like working with so many personalities?

It is very hard work with different personalities but ultimately we come together to continue the good work God has begun in us. Everything worth having requires hard work and dedication.
