THE POWER OF “NO”

There are probably a million and one ways to say no.  No, nope, no thanks, that is not going to work for me, nuh uh, and so on.

However, a lot of us don’t use that word enough.  Truthfully, I have never had a problem saying no, in fact my first word was no.  I’ve seem plenty of people overwork themselves for other people and things when they should have said no.  Stress is caused by saying yes too much.

A few years back, I started saying no more often.  I was wearing myself out trying to be everything to everyone.  We risk our health, family, and much more trying to accommodate or be nice to others.  I’m not saying you have to be mean, but don’t put yourself in situations you don’t want to be in.

There are certain rules you need to make in life in order to survive, better yet in order to live.  How much life have you wasted saying yes or maybe?  How many times have you found yourself in a bad situation because you didn’t say no?  What have you missed?  Life, love, business all because you accommodated where you should have said no instead.

My favorite way of saying no is  “that is not going to work for me”, it is simple and direct.  Try it sometimes and it will free up time for the things you want to say yes to.

Peace & Love
