NEW YORK CITY, NY–A gala 60th birthday bash for noted celebrity and documentary photographer Ken Harris (KENTHEPHOTOGRAPHER) over the weekend, rocked Midtown Manhattan’s Smash Studios on W. 36th Street with fabulous personalities from all over the hip-hop industry, amazing comedic and musical performances, delicious catering, and a star-studded guest list that was the talk of the occasion. The shindig, hosted by Ken’s wife, Hip Hop Weekly Sheditor and publishing mogul Cynthia Horner, was taken by storm with the sudden Red Carpet appearance of A-list celebrity party crasher “Shaggy“, who took over the Step and Repeat when he exchanged sultry, steamy kisses with his lovely date, turning heads everywhere and holding up Fox Empire stars from walking the Red Carpet!
Joining Shaggy at the party were a literal “Who’s Who” roster of notable attendees, includingBlack Rambo of the hit FOX TV series Empire, celebrity fitness trainer and Curvy Chick Fitness CEO Charity Lynette, accomplished plus-model and TV actress Michele Lawson, filmmakers Damien Postell and Carlton Springer, Legendary Producer, Host, Manager, and Record Label Owner Bea Montgomery, WBLS radio personality Indy Smith, fashion designer/vocalist Wendy Eato, Najir singer and co-founder of Save My City, Hype Hair Magazine founder Belinda Trotter James, Allen Cox The All Star Project, Falasha Campbell Executive Producer of the RCT Show, MTV’s The Shop star Deborah Hammond and Black Men/Hype Hair publisher JohnBlassingame. The party, whose theme was the recognition of Ken’s fellow photographers and videographers, and their contributions to contemporary media, featured captivating performances by Aviance (Trio), Kachina, Sireal, Prince Sean, Shamela, Willybreed,
Sushi Fresh, Little Dawg, IB Mattic, Jonathon Stamper, Jahee “The Voice”, Lucky Trapsetta, and Wild Stylemovie star Rodney C., who also sings with The Funky Four Plus 1. These stellar artists kept this blowout soiree amped up throughout the evening along with Boov The Comedian and DJ G Money (106 and Park).
One of the highlights of the party was the intricately designed birthday cake, done to perfection by caterer Dyva D’lights’ Robin Lester. Celebrity Radio Personality Luscious Kissesprovided personalized Goblets
and Tiny’s Tequila sponsored the toast of the evening, they did a marvelous tribute to KEN THE PHOTOGRAPHER, whose storied career includes such achievements as capturing such iconic figures as President Obama, Rev. Al Sharpton, Beyonce, and Jay-Z on film, as well as major cultural and historical events, such as the Million Man March, and shooting the cover of a top-selling Patti Labelle album.
