How many times have you failed at a venture that you just knew was going to work? You just knew it was going to be that thing that takes you to the top. But alas you find yourself once again tossing out the over abundance of flyers and cards you zealously had created, another website investment failed. You just didn’t work hard enough and so it just didn’t work out. What is it that you are doing wrong? It seems like everyone else around you has been prosperous in this business so what is it about you that creates failure time after time? In the meantime here you are scouring the help wanted ads for a dreaded job so you can pay your bills. Why don’t you just stop dreaming and accept that you are among the many people who are just made to work for someone else. Entrepreneurship is just not for you. You were meant to be….mediocre.
Have you ever thought that maybe it’s not you? Maybe it’s the business you jumped into. Yes, you did your research and yes you gave it your all but sometimes your all is not enough because what you are doing is not meant for you. We get so tired of working for someone for minimal pay and maximum work we look for something, anything that will free us from the bondage of being told when you can sleep in and when you can take a day to yourself. We take any way out offered to us, but no matter how hard you work or how much time you put in, no matter how many all nighters you pull or how much you prepare, what’s for you is for you and whats not well, it’s not. Simply put. We were not made to exhaust ourselves. Life can be beautiful. Life IS beautiful. We make it harder than it has to be. Sometimes we find ourselves fighting for what we should be letting go and oftentimes we will let go of something we should be fighting for. The tricky part is knowing which is which. We never take the time to get to know ourselves. We find in retrospect that we have walked a humdrum life as far back as we can remember. When is the last time you truly took a moment for yourself? A genuine moment to just be? No thinking. No processing. No analyzing. Just you in a quiet spot with a warm cup of tea feet up and staring at the wall. If we learned to invest in ourselves the way we invest in life (yes there is a difference) we would be more in tune with ourselves and find that the struggle is NOT real but just a figment of our imagination that we have allowed to crossover into life. I’m going to get biblical for a moment..
God created man and animals correct? Do you see animals worrying over what meal will come next or where they will live? A way is provided. Now are you not greater than animals? God himself breathed life into man, we are made in His image. Is His image worrisome, anxious, doubtful? To thine own self be true, those words carry a weight that some of us may never comprehend. I challenge you to take a look in the mirror and know who you are and what you want, without vanity without glory without facade. Just you being you.
Yes. Follow your dreams and follow your heart but remember dreams are wild imaginations uncontrolled by your conscience mind and the heart is emotion based and oftentimes can be wrong.
