Most people don’t, so don’t feel bad. Surviving means continuing to exist despite hardship or adversity. Living, on the other hand, means pursing a specified lifestyle. It’s like the difference between effective and efficient. One means getting it done, and the other means getting it done in the best possible way.
The problem is most people mistake surviving for living. We are taught to be grateful to pay bills, be married, have kids, a job and etc. You most definitely should be grateful some people can’t even accomplish that. Why stop there? Why not go beyond the norm? Why can’t you be the one to accomplish greatness? What is the worse that could happen if someone tells you no?
Some of us stop at “no”, when it just means “not open”.
If you find a door that is “not open”, you find another door.
Find the “yes” door, “your efficient solution”.
When I finally got serious and decided to lose weight, I had to find the “yes” door. Many other times and other things didn’t work for me. I didn’t give up though. I became more determined to find the solution. There was no way I was spending the rest of my life under t-shirts at the beach. Years ago, eight to be exact, I did find my solution (low carbs/exercise) and I continue to let that determination guide me.
That has led me to doing things I never thought I would in life. I still get giddy everyday with this life I have. No, I haven’t hit my millions (yet), but I know it is about finding the right door. THEY ARE THERE!
That is the difference between living and surviving. People who survive take “no” and accept it as their life. People who live take “no” and it motivates them to find their “yes”. That is true in both your business and your personal life. When I was 20, I used to sell burial plots as a part-time job and I was one of the best. If I can do that, I can do anything! Who knew? Don’t listen to the “surviving” people, you are trying to “live”, right?
My motto is “Do you know who I am? There is nothing out of my reach!”
Say this EVERY DAY to yourself, until it gets ingrained into your heart and soul!
Side-note: Don’t be afraid to tell other people “no” especially if it interferes with your “yes”.
