Wednesday Wonder Woman: Q. Johnson

Inspired by her love for Prince, the movie Purple Rain, and the encouragement of her customers when she worked in retail management, today’s Wonder Woman started her radio show on Blog Talk Radio in her bedroom with a cellphone and computer. She now has over 50k listeners.Quendole “Q” Johnson the owner of Purple Gyrl Media & Entertainment and host of the Purple Girl Show, interviewing the hottest celebrities, entertainers, business owners and professionals. Check out what the Purple Girl had to say.

Fancy: What do you enjoy most about being a radio personality?
Q.: I love my creative freedom to verbally express myself not only behind the mic, but on panels, speaking engagements etc.  I have a voice and a testimony.  I use it so other girls/women know they are not alone on this journey known as LIFE. I have been through the storm, and I’m still standing. No human on this earth that breaths the same air as me can take that away.

Fancy: Lately you have been speaking on Boss Chicks vs Bad B* tches.  What sparked this debate? What’s your take on the two?
Q.: Lately those words have been thrown around loosely and are turning some women into “Mean Girls”. I never seen so many ‘Boss Chicks’ or “Bad B*tches” who don’t reach back and pull those whose shoes they once filled. I consider myself to be neither. I’m a “BEAST” or “Boss In Training” until I’m closing million and billion dollar deals you will never hear me refer to  myself as a “Boss”. A “Boss” to me is Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Madam CJ Walker, Ursula Burns, Arianna Huffington, Sheryl Sandberg and a number of other women who I study who have already made their mark on the world.

Fancy: What is one thing you had to learn or overcome in business in order to grow and/or be successful?
Q.:It’s ok to follow your dreams.  We are in a state of emergency, and people are hurting. Because of that, they try and make you feel bad for tapping into your gift and using it. I WILL NEVER APOLOGIZE about my success or accomplishments.
Fancy: How would you describe your swagher?
Q.: My swag is kind of like my style. I am who I am and I wear what I want. I don’t try to fit in because I live in my world and that world consists of Faith, Growth, Success, and Happiness.

Fancy: Do you have any upcoming projects you would care to share with us?
Q.:Yes. I’m excited to now finally launch my lifestyle and beauty brand, iQ by Q. Stay Tuned.

Fancy: What words of inspiration would you care to share with our followers?
Q.: Stop putting your FAITH in people, because you’ll always be disappointed. Put your FAITH in GOD and ask him to send the right people in your life. Only then will you start to see the growth of the seeds you planted.
