Today’s Wonder Woman is professional, traveling make up artist, Jonelle Jacobs. Learn more about Jonelle below.
Why did you choose this profession?
I’ve always loved the art. I would find myself watching movies and paying more attention to the makeup, wanting to know how to accomplish the look than actually watching the movie. I love to transform or simply enhance one’s natural beauty. Seeing their reaction/satisfaction is priceless.
What is the biggest challenge makeup artists have to face?
The biggest would be clients willing to pay you what you are worth, not respecting your talent or the art. Everyone can’t do what we do. “Well so and so is cheaper “, but they’re using hair bonding glue to attach your lashes or not cleaning their brushes between clients. Another challenge is trying to convince brides that don’t wear makeup the importance of wearing it on their special day.
Tell us about your experience as a makeup artist?
I have experience doing proms, photo shoots, fashion shows, weddings, and reality TV, as well as night on the town, and children’s makeup.
