Expecting Relief is a non-profit organization that focuses on assisting mothers and their children going through financial hardships. The founder, Vanessa Bracetty and her two sisters, Natasha and Kayla, are passionate about providing the basic needs of the littlest victims living in poverty-stricken communities. Expecting Relief sponsors various charitable events throughout the year, such as their collaborative event with the charity Jericho RoadToy 4 Tots Drive“; a Kids Spa Day; and a sponsored baby’s 1st Birthday Celebration. Vanessa works tirelessly to raise funds for these events through donations given by large corporations, small businesses, and individuals in the community. Along with monetary donations, Expecting Relief accepts gently used clothing for children Newborn -5 years old. They accept items that every mother needs such as diapers, wipes, and blankets. If you like to donate, Donations can be made Via Paypal using the email exprelieforg@gmail.com. If direct depositing please email info@expectingrelief.org too obtain bank information. Currently, drop boxes locations can be found at Sydney’s Sweets in West Hempstead and in the Brooklyn area. To find out more on where and how to donate or volunteer please go to www.expectingrelief.com. Vanessa and her sisters go to the shelters and give to the young mothers that reside there.

Along with their many charitable ventures, Expecting Relief believes in developing and supporting small business. I had the pleasure of attending their “Date My Business” event. The theme is speed dating for entrepreneurs. Similar to matchmaking you have 5 minutes to decide if there is a possible collaboration or not. The first event was held at Jazzpel Christian Community Center in Brooklyn, NY. The event was sponsored by Whova app, Beaumont’s Catering, Tower Isles patties, Scrubz beauty care, and Tend Skin. Guest included Lashawn Lukes of La Chocolates and PNC radio host; Shermain Secasa, editor of Christian Times Newspaper; and other minority small business owners. This engaging networking event will be held monthly. For more dates go to www.datemybusiness.co and www.expectingrelief.com
