While #BlackLivesMatter above all else, #BlackWorkMatters as well. Across the country yesterday, minimum wage workers and those who understand their plight united for the cause of increasing minimum wage, #Fightfor15. Organized by Black Youth Project 100, rallie took place in cities such Sacramento, Seattle, New Orleans, Chicago, and New York City.
Black Youth Project 100, also known as BYP100, is an activist member based organization consisting of young Black adults ranging from 18-35, who are dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black people.
Their mission is to motivate workers to knowledgeably negotiate their employment wages and conditions. We found these reasons on their site for why they are fighting for $15.
We commend them and encourage you to support their movement. Visit their site by clicking here.
