Wednesday Wonder Woman: Carolice Morgan

carolice1      I personally believe that today’s Wonder Woman may fit the bill more closely than anyone we have ever had before. Meet Carolice Morgan, who is a mother of eight orginally from Jamaica. Morgan is the Senior PR at the Jay Productions Agency and an independent distributor of Flori Roberts and Color Me Beautiful cosmetics. She also has her own line of makeup, VIRTUE, in the works. Originally, Morgan was pursuing a modeling career, but she fell in love with makeup and soon after completing school, she was hired at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (a national station in Jamaica) as the assistant makeup  artist and she was promoted within months. The position allowed her to work with many greats like Minister Louis Farrakhan, Roberta Flack, and the late Johnnie Cochran. Upon migrating to the States, Morgan took on a position at 71 Records and was able to travel and display her talents.

When asked what is the hardest part about selling makeup, Morgan replied, “The hardest part of selling Flori Roberts  and Color Me Beautiful cosmetics is introducing a line  to prospective customers when they are not familiar with it. However once you initiate a consult and they get the opportunity to try the product, two things can happen they will either love  it or  not.I f they do, I have a new customer. If they don’t, it was not for them . The other obstacle is that the product is not as  easily accessible  as other products in stores, but everyone shops online now therefore it does not pose a big problem. What I love about the product is each line is designed specifically for every woman’s skin type.”

Morgan says she will continue to do makeup even after she debuts her line, VIRTUE, on, because it is her passion, but she will also focus more on workshops. She confessed that after years of working in the industry, she has realized many women shy away from makeup because they do not possess enough product knowledge or do not know how to properly apply their makeup. So why the name VIRTUE? “I strongly believe in the virtuous women that Proverbs 31 speak of and I think I embody those qualities. I would love to teach women that beautiful is more than the outer appearance. Real beauty comes from within so the  product is to enhance the outward appearance. In my workshops and classes I will teach how to embrace the inner beauty and self love,” she revealed. Of course we had to ask how does Morgan balance home and work. “Balancing work and family has proven to be challenging.  My typical day begins at 4:30 am getting the kids up, preparing breakfast,  and then our morning devotion. Soon after, I am ensuring the high school kids catch their bus, then the elementary kids followed by middle schoolers. By 8:20, it’s time for my 3 year old son getting him in his set program and emerge into my home office work for a few hours. At 12 pm, it’s lunch time for toddler and play time soon after. I do light house work cleaning up, doing laundry, etc. At about 3 o’clock, I prepare dinner, giving rides to work to my teenage kids, football practice, and the lists goes on ending with some family time, prayer, and bed.  If you would like to learn more about Carolice Morgan and Flori Roberts and Color Me Beautiful, visit and follow her below.  www.co
