Marlo Catalano is the Founder of Bold & Bespoke LLC.  With a love for fashion and business it only made sense to take leap towards his dreams. Marlo is joined by Katie Wallace, their Chief Creative Officer. Katie graduated from Kent State University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design. Katie has known since 8th grade that she wanted to be a fashion designer and has an extensive knowledge of how the fashion industry operates, and the art of creating a garment. Their collaboration resulted in Bold & Bespoke, a boutique tailored to timeless, quality clothing, accessories and fine jewelry.

1.  How did Bold&Bespoke come about?

We met a few years ago through friends when Katie, our Chief Creative Officer, was attending Kent State for a fashion design degree. We both have a great eye for style, and a passion for fashion and the fashion world. A year or so passed when I presented the idea of creating a clothing line together, as I have the business background, and Katie has the design background. We thought and researched a long time, decided on our target customer, and researched their fashion needs. A boutique setting seemed like the best way to start to build a strong customer base.

2. What is the message and vision behind Bold&Bespoke?

At Bold & Bespoke, we are always looking for creative designers that can offer something new and different for our customers. Our goal is to offer exclusive designs for women to not only look beautiful in, but feel beautiful in. Our customer should always feel comfortable in her own skin. The Bold & Bespoke boutique targets designers that make products in the USA and, with that in mind, we strategically target certain designers and are relentless in our pursuit of quality. We let customers drive our business…BeYou.

3. What kind of customer does Bold&Bespoke cater to?

We have a little something for everyone. We have everything from jewelry and clothing that is at a mid-range price point to very-high end jewelry.

4. How do you prepare your inventory for each season?

We are always connecting with new designers so that we are consistently adding new products to our website. Along with keeping in touch with the current designers we deal with in order for our inventory and business to run smooth. But as many know when there is a strong demand for certain products and colors it still can be tough to keep up.

5. What are some favorite fall accessories customers should look for on your site?

We are very excited about our leg warmers and boot socks! They are comfortable, but also super cute with a pair of boots or booties.

6. What’s unique to Bold&Bespoke?

Bold & Bespoke has such a great range of unique products. We also have clothing, shoes and jewelry that have been seen on many celebrities! We have a showcase currently featuring celebrity designer ARIDO, whose jewelry has been seen on the red carpet.

7. What’s next for Bold&Bespoke?

We are always looking to add new designers and collaborate on new projects.  Aside from this we are also gearing up to start our own women’s clothing line in the near future. The profits from our sales now are going toward this project. We are also hoping to add menswear in the future.
