Wednesday Wonder Woman: Dasha Ware

Our Wonder Woman today is Dasha Ware, founder of The Rising Star Group, a boutique-based digital record label and creative agency. Ware has worked with music labels like Konvict/Global Artists Group, Interscope, and No Limit Forever; government agencies like Job Corps/CHP International; and publications such as Hip Hop Enquirer Magazine and The Hype Magazine.

Ware is well known for proven results. “We are experts at what we do. A lot of our clients are referral based or returned clients. I also give credit to my awesome team and network,” she says.

Initially Ware studied recording engineering at FullSail University, but upon participating in a marketing internship with Patchwerk Recording Studios and then being offered an administrative assistant position, she took an interest in music marketing. Her position allowed her to build relationships with key people in the industry.

She then decided to begin The Rising Star Group, which helps clients maximize their digital value, creative branding strategies, content production, and publishing leading to a project or campaign launch.

Recently Ware was listed as one of Evan Carmichael’s top 100 Branding Experts. “I was very shocked because I never looked to be recognized for social media. I just love motivating talent and sharing beneficial information for them to be able to use on their mission of becoming a rising star,” Ware says.

When asked her thoughts on marketing and branding being one and the same as many seem to think, Ware states, “Branding and marketing are similar but definitely different. Marketing is your message; what you do, branding is what you are.”

Ware is also the cofounder of Protect My Kitty, a gynecological cancers education and awareness organization. With their new age marketing approach, the organization’s goal is to make gynecological cancers an everyday subject like breast cancer and reach all women who may be left behind.

This Wonder Woman is currently working on a new docu-series “BAPs”, starring one of her clients, Kristen Gipson, airing on Lifetime July 23rd. She is also developing a few new faces on her record label and various indie artists around the world. She left us with these words of inspiration, “Know that you are destined for greatness and it will not always be easy, but as long as you believe, the possibilities are limitless.”

Ware is currently a nominee for Social Media Contestant Day ATL, which takes place tomorrow. Please cast your vote on Twitter by tweeting “I nominate @CoachDashaWare for the @TOP100 at #SMDayATL14.” You have to tweet this exact message. Best of luck hon!
