Marissa Alexander is now awaiting a retrial due to Florida extending its Stand Your Ground Laws. Warning shots are now covered by Stand Your Ground law as well.
Alexander, who has been in and out of the news over the past few years for firing warning shots at her alleged abusive ex husband, was found guilty of aggravated assault and originally sentenced to 20 years. There was much controversy about her sentencing and her mental state.
Governor Rick Warren signed the extension for the controversial law, which has gotten others off, like George Zimmerman, last Friday.
Does anyone else feel like this is an underhanded trade off?
