Summer Rejuvenation

The summer is the time to relax, get in a nice vacation and rejuvenate for the busy fall season. Whether you are trying to get your body right for the beach, going on a get away or just having a “chill moment” on the porch. Most of us are well beyond burnt out by the time for summer.


I am Bria Davenport, a new intern for SwagHer this summer. I am a college student, as college students, most of us don’t get a break even in the summer. Most college students use this time to enhance their resumes, get those extra finals pounds off or traveling to far away lands. I think this is something everyone can learn from the average college student, we all should use those extra daylight hours while work isn’t as busy and get out their to rejuvenated for the fall. Here are four things I recommend that you can do to get an extra pep in your step to go back to work/school and get the job done!

1. Yoga

This popular exercise not only helps your body but your mind as well. You can do it alone or there are probably tons of group yoga sessions in your area. If you’re not sure how to do yoga on your own, there are lots of YouTube videos that can assist.  Here’s a link to one that I do in the mornings.

2. Set Weekly Goals

Take this time to do something you’ve always wanted to do. Set weekly goals for yourself, even if it’s as small as getting through that new novel, you wanted to read.

3. Go on a daily walk

Though it maybe a little hot outside, take an early morning or late evening walk. It can help to clear your mind or just be an outlet to get you moving.

4. Have a night out or night in with friends

Sometimes your friends give you the boost you need to keep going. Having a small party at your home or just going out to your local club, could make a bigger impact on your attitude than you think.
