There is only so much that you can do to help someone. While it is your responsibility to uplift, encourage, and motivate, it is not your job to belittle, judge, or dictate someone’s life and future.
When I wake up in the morning one of the first things on my mind is to tweet the first thought I had upon rising. I know, weird huh? We all have our calling… I never know who or even if anyone is going to read it. What is important to me is that I continue to follow my heart and my dedication to reach at least one person and change at least one life.
All you can do is all you can do, nothing less, maybe a thought or prayer more. Someone is looking up to you and looking to you for hope and possibly validation. Be careful of your words as well as your actions. My mother used to tell me that someone is always watching, so I vow to be a lady at all times minding my words and what I do. I never want what I say to be taken the wrong way. I say what I mean, and I mean what I say.
It is important to be honest with yourself as well. We all have flaws and imperfections but don’t dwell on them. Always remain light hearted and happy spirited. Smile.
Though your wise words and good intentions be good for your soul it’s not about you. And though you may be building your confidence and bettering your character, it’s not about you. It is about not only the amount of lives you touch but also HOW you have touched them. And though its not about you, only YOU can be held accountable for you.
