Nicole Jocleen chooses Right Over Wrong
“I don’t want people to be confused. I don’t proclaim to be a poet. I am a writer who has written poetry.”-Nicole Jocleen
“Rightoverwrong: a book of poems” is the first book release from Oklahoma native Nicole Jocleen. She decided to write the book after praying to God one night and asking him to enlarge her territory. The next day she watched a DVR recording of Bobby Jones Gospel which happened to be an episode featuring Legendary Poet Maya Angelou. After watching Angelou recite her poem “The mask” Nicole immediately picked up a pen and pad and wrote her first poem for rightoverwrong titled, “You also wear a mask.” It was through that poem that she was able to make peace with the negativity surrounded around the election of President Barack Obama.
With over 100 poems included in rightoverwrong, she speaks on all aspects of life from racism in the 21st century to love and loss. Her perspective is unique but also honest.
Nicole Jocleen has received an abundance of support for her first book. One customer described rightoverwrong: a book of poems bysaying, “this book displays the character of a young woman, who observes life, one who sees and understands clearly the path set before her. “
The author hopes that readers will not only enjoy the poetry but also learn something throughout the process. For more information and to purchase the book go to www.nicolejocleen.com. Readers can also follow her on twitter @nicolejocleen.
